Book Kim Mitchell

Singer-songwriter Kim Mitchell is a true Canadian icon who has achieved gold and multiplatinum records leading the musically eclectic Max Webster in the 70's and later during his solo career, selling over a million recordings in this country over a 30 year career that is still rocking today. He has won two Juno Awards for "Album of the Year" and "Male Vocalist of the Year". In the late 70's and through all of the 80's Kim toured the largest arenas in the country from one end to the other more times than one can count. He continues to perform at festivals and Performing Arts Theatres to this day. He is a respected song writer having penned and recorded classic hits like ‘Go For Soda,’ ‘Rock N Roll Duty,’ ‘Patio Lanterns,’ ‘I am a Wild Party,’ ‘Easy To Tame’ and ‘All We Are,’ to name just a few - all songs that have become part of the Canadian musical genome… add to that several new songs from his most recent recording Ain’t Life Amazing and audiences are thrilled to find that participating in a Kim Mitchell concert today is like being at the live recording of a greatest hits box set, often including for good measure a few Max Webster gems like ‘Battlescar’, ‘High Class in Borrowed Shoes’ and ‘Diamonds, Diamonds’.

As an added bonus and a sideline, six years ago, Mitchell was asked to join the on-air staff in the prestigious position of afternoon drive host at Q107 in Toronto adding a week day job to his live performance schedule. During his tenure as host of Q107’s afternoon drive show he has maintained the number one position with men 25-54 and number two with adults 25-54 in the city, which remains consistent with the demographic of his live touring audience nationally. Men, women and kids all love Kim Mitchell and Q107 is honoured to have him on their team. The Southern-Ontario radio scene and contemporary rock would not be the same without him.

He has the respect of peers, fans, and industry types alike. Just what does he consider his greatest achievement? “Shoot, that’s easy,” says Kim, “it’s in the couple of hours the band is onstage, being able to take people to a special place, through our performance and music. When that happens, I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.” Legions of Canadian fans agree!
